We’d like to thank the Wethersfield community for their continued support and if you haven’t visited us yet, we’re now located on the Silas Deane Hwy.   

Born and raised in Wethersfield, CT, John and his wife Ilona (from Plainville), established The Cove Deli in April of 2010 on Main Street in Old Wethersfield. In 2017, we moved locations and are now on the Silas Deane Hwy. John’s culinary background began in his own parents’ kitchen, working with his family, creating foods from the Polish tradition as well as our more recognizable American fare.  

From the household to a more commercial setting, John began his career at the Mediplex of Wethersfield, where patients’ nutritional needs were the focus, and worked throughout the culinary spectrum, most recently working in Hollywood, California as a caterer in the film and television industries. Here, he learned the true essence of customer service, where high standards and healthy food were the priority.  

John and Ilona came back to Connecticut to their roots and have settled down, having children and continue to grow their business. They bring their respective life experiences to The Cove Deli and its customers and strive to provide a positive and comfortable experience.
